Detroit Symphony flutist Jeffery Zook is joined by the members of the Aurea Silva Trio, Brandy Hudelson, Gareth Thomas and David Gilliland, for an evening of chamber music from the classical, jazz and contemporary genres. Jeffery Zook has been a member of the Detroit Symphony since 1992 and has performed across the globe as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player. The golden, lustrous sounds of the flute, bassoon and piano combine together with innovative programming and dynamic musicianship to make the Aurea Silva Trio one of North America’s most engaging chamber ensembles. The trio seamlessly weaves together music from baroque, classical, jazz and contemporary genres. While relatively unique, the combination of flute, bassoon and keyboard has been in vogue since the 1800′s. Aurea Silva showcases these traditional works in conjunction with performances of new compositions and world premieres. The program will include works by Chick Corea, Tim Jansa, Haydn, Gaubert, Villa-Lobos, Boutry and more!
